Jaipur... What a wonderful place to be

So after getting back from Haridwar, we set out for Jaipur. It's such a beautiful city! We stayed with a relative of Samir's (Mahima's husband) and were able to go and explore. Of course we first had to visit temples... I think by this time, both Christine and I were tired of seeing temples, tired of taking our shoes off and tired of seeing the same thing in different cities. We were silly and ridiculous. The temples were beautiful and each one was stunning.

At the temple there was a carving of Madonna with Christ (No, not that Madonna, Ali). I thought that was interesting because Hinduism incorporates all religions.
After seeing the temples, we went to a little town outside of Jaipur that is sort of a tourist trap but fun none-the-less. It is supposed to be a replica of what an old Indian village would look like, however, it is more of an "Indian Renaissance Fair"

We were able to pet/ride camels (I am in love with these creatures... as Christine says, "they are the stoners of the animal kingdom). This made my night.

This was our first attempt at henna... Note to self: Do NOT get henna from a tourist trap... it will be ugly and you WILL be embarrassed when it dries.

MMMMM.... We ate on the floor and all of the food was traditional, so good.

The next day we headed to a place called the Red Fort. It was a huge castle that rested on the top and overlooked all of Jaipur. This is the wall that surrounded the fort.

Entering through the front.

This was one of the king's halls... It was gorgeous and covered with jewels

Using the fort's toilets... when you gotta go... you gotta go

This is where the king would spend his first night after he was married.

Going into places where we shouldn't be... what's new?

View from the Red Fort.

Doesn't she look like she is trapped and waiting on her prince? I love this pic!

At another place where the king would spend his "honeymoon" with his new bride

This was a family friend who took time out to take us around the city.

We were so excited to eat McDonald's... it was sad... neither of us even eat McDonald's in the States, but it was awesome.

After playing all day, we played all night... As you can see, night play might have been a little more fun :)
